'Virtual’ Cruijff meets at Ajax Amsterdam

BARCELONA, October 27, 2011 - Johan Cruijff is now able to attend Ajax supervisory board meetings from Barcelona through live video connection.  In the circumstance that Cruijff is unable to meet in Amsterdam personally, he and his colleagues will speak via a video screen. VisionsConnected installed a high-end video system at Cruijff’s location in Barcelona this week.

Cruijff, who was officially appointed commissioner in July of this year, uses VisionsConnected’s managed video service to connect to the Ajax video system in Amsterdam. The installation of a ‘Cisco telepresence system’ provides Cruijff with his own virtual meeting room. Cruijff: ”It’s so simple, that you forget how complicated it is.”

Cruijff and innovation
Cruijff attending a meeting through a screen by using his own video system should not come as a surprise. More than a few commissioners of public companies who live abroad, communicate this way with their headquarters situated in another country.

Communication quality
The applied video technology guarantees a safe connection by using encryption methods. The excellent quality of both image and sound makes video communication parallel the quality of personal interaction. Cruijff: “I can explain football technical issues without touching anyone physically, so why not by video from Barcelona?”
